TikTok
TikTok runs on Spark Ads: real videos from your (or a creator's) profile are served as ads. Views and engagement stay on the original post.
Status: Live. Connect your TikTok ad account via login, just like Meta. Viewing campaigns, managing them, and promoting videos with a Spark code all work fully.
Getting a Spark code (step by step)
A Spark code (also called a "video code") authorizes a specific TikTok video for advertising. It does not come from the regular share link; it comes from the video's ad settings:
- Open the video in the TikTok app, then tap Share or ⋯.
- Select Ad settings and enable ad authorization.
- Choose a validity period and copy the code shown.
- Pass the code unchanged to Claude: "Start a campaign with this Spark code: #ABC123…"
Important: Pass the code exactly as TikTok displays it, including a leading # if present. The # is part of the code, not a hashtag. If the video belongs to a creator, the creator sends you their code.
Common errors
- Error 40002 ("Post code is incorrect"): The code is invalid or expired. Fix: request a fresh code (codes have a validity period chosen at activation).
- Share link instead of Spark code: A vm.tiktok.com/… link is not a Spark code. You need the code from the ad settings (see above).
Targeting options
In addition to countries, age, and gender, you can control the following per ad group on TikTok:
- Languages of the target audience.
- Placements: TikTok itself and/or the Pangle network.
- Devices: Android and/or iOS.
- Network: Wi-Fi, 2G-5G.
Example: "Target the TikTok ad group to Germany, 18-24, iOS only, Wi-Fi only."
On TikTok as everywhere: new campaigns start paused and only go live after your approval. More at What you can do.
